In honor of the first Prime Minister- Jawahar Lal Nehru, India celebrates Children’s Day on the 14th of November. He had great affection for children and believed that they were the future. He is famous for saying, “Children are like buds in a garden and should be carefully and lovingly nurtured, as they are the future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow.”
On this day, children across the country participate in fun competitions, play fun games, and celebrate the day with fun treats. Here are a few ways you can make this Children’s Day more unique.
Organize a fun outing- take your kiddos to the zoo or an amusement park and turn it into a day of family recreation. Visit a museum or spend a day doing an architectural tour of your city. Want to make field trips more exciting? Include underprivileged children and end the trip with a fun-filled picnic!
Throw a themed dress-up party for kids and invite all their friends. Make the party all-inclusive and hold the event at a daycare center for underprivileged children. Distribute gifts to the most innovative costumes and end with a fun dance party!
Take your kids out for a movie they might enjoy or just have a fun movie marathon at home and top it off with loads of popcorn and ice-cream. Want to combine celebrations, education, and giving back to society? Hold a movie screening at an orphanage or a shelter home for children and make Children’s Day more exciting for them!
Kids love to run and scream and an engaging sports day is the best way to combine exciting activities, being healthy and fun! Sports is also a great way to encourage team building and a healthy competitive spirit. Make it an unforgettable day by organizing the event in collaboration with an NGO and watch the smiles and happiness multiply.
You too can make this Children’s Day exciting and memorable for our kids at Wishes and Blessings by organizing special activities for them and turn 14th November into a day they’ll never forget.
‘While we try to teach children all about life, children teach us what life is all about.’ We could learn a lot of things by observing them closely.
Here are some of those lessons:
Happy Children’s Day, and always remember to stay in touch with your inner child.
